Job Overview
We are seeking AV Operational Support Technician / Alternative Lead candidates to join our team in support of the NATO mission at the George C. Marshall Center. Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 2 years' related experience, specifically with Crestron equipment.

Qualifications
  • Required Skills: Crestron, Audio-visual technology, cameras, audio systems, event scheduling
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with AV systems
  • 1 year team lead experience
  • Experiene in live production
  • Experience in scheduling and coordination
  • Experience and skills necessary to maintain, troubleshoot and update Crestron systems used in all AV operations.
  • Excellent customer service
  • Proficient to Level 3 in English (spoken, written, read).
  • Education: High School Diploma
 
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
On Site AV Technical Support
  • Deliver a full spectrum of AV Operational Support Services to the GCMC, ensuring flawless execution and functionality of AV equipment for various events and activities. This includes providing assistance to faculty and guest speakers with presentation setups, adjusting seminar room configurations for diverse events, and managing furniture and AV equipment arrangements for all functions.
  • Installing, setting up, and re-configuring AV system cabling, as well as ensuring all AV resources are tested and ready 30 minutes prior to each event.
  • In situations requiring maintenance, upgrades, or repairs beyond basic troubleshooting, collaborate with the AV technical support team, offering technical liaison services for repair technicians.
  • Operate key AV hardware such as cameras, audio systems, and VTC systems under the guidance of producers during live events, ensuring seamless AV performance.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation to aid Knowledge Management, encompassing standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Efficiently utilize technical drawings and guides for operational support.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain AV equipment's operational readiness, leveraging the organizational ticketing system for routine coordination and direct communication with the customer in emergencies.
  • Flexibility in working hours is expected, with the candidate required to support events during irregular hours, including U.S. or German holidays, weekends, or outside normal duty hours.

 Scheduling and Coordination Support
  • Active participation in the scheduling process, offering essential assistance to streamline the allocation of resources and spaces effectively. A key aspect of this role involves active engagement in planning meetings, collaborating with customer and stakeholders to keep abreast of upcoming events and initiatives to effectively plan and allocate resources, ensuring alignment with the Government's needs for each event.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the event calendar and facility availability, meticulously recording and tracking all scheduled activities. In scenarios where schedule conflicts arise, promptly highlight these issues to the customer for timely resolution.
  • Provide support and ensuring the accurate and efficient communication of all relevant information.
On-Call (Emergency) Services
  • Perform On-Call (Emergency) repairs and services for all AV systems submitted via e-mail, telephone call, text, or digital message when designated at the on call technician in accordance with current SLA standards.
  • If a system component is deemed faulty and is covered by manufacturer warranty, remove and replace the defective part and coordinate warranty repair/replacement. If a component is defective and there are no replacement parts on hand, provide leadership with recommendations on any replacement parts needed.
