Job Opportunity: Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist (US)
Location: San Francisco, CA – Onsite at VA Medical Center
Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: Full-Time, Rotating Shifts (including weekends, holidays, day/evening/night rotations)



Make a Difference Behind the Mission

We are seeking skilled Sonographers/Ultrasound Technologists to provide highly complex ultrasound examinations for our Veteran patients. This role is perfect for individuals with strong technical skills and a passion for delivering compassionate care.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in collaboration with radiologists and medical staff.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment safely, maintaining high standards of image quality.
  • Prepare and educate patients, maintaining privacy, comfort, and dignity.
  • Document procedures accurately and comply with VA record-keeping requirements.
  • Maintain sterile supplies, equipment, and infection control standards.
  • Complete VA-required training and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification required; additional certifications a plus.
  • ARDMS-certified Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist with expertise in complex abdominal, vascular, and cardiac imaging.
  • Skilled in performing ultrasound exams across diverse patient populations, including inpatients, outpatients, and surgical settings.
  • Experienced with GE ultrasound systems; Philips IntelliSpace PACS knowledge highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology relevant to imaging.
  • Familiarity with hospital EMR systems and documentation protocols.
  • Commitment to ongoing CME/CEU requirements and professional development.
  • Must meet VA credentialing, privileging, and mandatory training requirements (BLS, HIPAA, MRI safety, etc.).
