Job Overview
The Referral Management Center (RMC) needs an LPN to to advise both patients and clinic staff on specialty care referrals. The LPN tracks all referrals in the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) and coordinates specialty care for our beneficiaries seeking care at the MTF and all network medical facilities.QUALIFICATIONS
· Education: Qualification of LPN. Proof of graduation from an approved National League of Nursing LPN program.· License: The medical service specialist shall possess a valid unrestricted license LPN to practice Nursing from the state at which services are rendered.
· License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification desirable
· Maintain Continuing Education credit sufficient to maintain both their clinical license and to meet MTF specific Quality Assurance standards for credentialing.
· Knowledge: Contractor performing this duty shall be knowledgeable in general medical ethics, health records administration, telephone etiquette, office management methods, excellent communications and customer service skills, strong organizational background, and computer operations to include Microsoft Windows and spread sheet type applications
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and have working knowledge of computers, specifically the Internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Windows.
· Able to type with a minimum of 40 words per minute
· Ability to speak, read, and write English language
DUTIES:
· Follow and comply with Air Force, MTF, and section policies and regulations when providing nursing care and treatment to beneficiaries.· Attend section’s meetings in-services and training (excluding military training) on a regularly scheduled session.
· Facilitate professional and patient care activities.
· Interface with the multidisciplinary personnel as needed to ensure appropriateness of referrals.
· Participate in multidisciplinary team activities.
· Maintain current nursing license, current knowledge of referral management, and documentation of continuing education credits.
· Demonstrates an ability to express self in all areas of communication, effective listening, and questioning techniques.
· Provides timely and descriptive feedback regarding utilization review issues.
· Performs data collection and review to identify areas requiring intensive management.
