Job Opportunity: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist
Location: San Francisco, CA – Onsite at VA Medical Center
Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: Full-Time, Rotating Shifts (including weekends, holidays, day/evening/night rotations)
Make a Difference Behind the Mission
Join our Radiology team as an MRI Technologist to provide life-changing imaging services for Veterans. Your expertise ensures accurate diagnoses and enhances the quality of care for those who served our country.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct MRI exams safely and effectively, adhering to established protocols.
- Prepare and educate patients, ensuring comfort and compliance.
- Operate MRI equipment, maintain image quality, and monitor patient safety.
- Collaborate with radiologists for accurate diagnostic interpretation.
- Maintain sterile supplies, equipment, and infection control standards.
- Participate in required VA training and continuing medical education.
- You’re ARRT-certified in MRI or equivalent certification.
- You’re experienced in performing MRI exams for diverse patient populations, including advanced imaging protocols and emergency cases.
- You’re skilled in MRI safety, contrast administration, and patient positioning for high-quality imaging.
- You’re knowledgeable in GE and Philips MRI systems, with PACS workflow experience preferred.
- You’re detail-oriented, organized, and committed to accurate documentation and quality assurance.
- You have strong interpersonal skills to reassure patients and coordinate effectively with radiologists and clinical teams.
- You’re flexible and mission-driven.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI certification required; state licensure where applicable.
- Proficient with GE and Philips MRI systems
- Minimum 2–3 years MRI experience in hospital or clinical settings preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy, MRI physics, and pathology relevant to imaging protocols.
- Proficient in PACS and EMR systems for documentation and reporting.
- Commitment to ongoing CME/CEU and VA mandatory training requirements.
- Must meet VA credentialing, privileging, and infection control standards.
