Job Opportunity: Athletic Trainer
Location: Moody AFB, GA (supporting the 93 AGOW, 820 BDG, 71st Rescue Squadron, and 23d Civil Engineering Squadron)
Start Date: 16 November 2026 (Base Period; four 12-month option years may follow)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, within standard duty hours of 0600–1800 (not to exceed 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week)

French Consulting is seeking Certified Athletic Trainers to join the Human Performance Optimization (HPO) team at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. You will evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate tactical athletes in the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing (93 AGOW), 820th Base Defense Group (820 BDG), 71st Rescue Squadron (71 RQS), and 23d Civil Engineering Squadron (23 CES), working alongside the 93 AGOW Physical Therapist, the 23d Wing Surgeon, and a collaborative medical team.

What You’ll Do

Clinical Care & Rehabilitation
  • Provide athletic training services, including on- and off-site emergency evaluation, triage, and treatment, in accordance with 23d Medical Group (23 MDG) standards and AFI 44-102.
  • Select, apply, and evaluate evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as:
    • Restoring joint range of motion and muscle extensibility.
    • Exercises to improve strength, endurance, speed, power, balance, neuromuscular control, and cardio-respiratory fitness.
    • Sport-specific and functional exercises, agility training, and corrective movement.
  • Provide preventative taping, bracing, and orthotic use for injury prevention, treatment, and protection of the athlete.
  • Reevaluate targeted populations and coordinate fitness and medical readiness of assigned patients.


Screening & Injury Prevention
 
  • Screen patients for injury and illness risk factors, including musculoskeletal flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness, postural and ergonomic factors, and body composition.
  • Design and implement strength, conditioning, fitness, and nutrition programs customized to individual needs, with safety at the center.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, injury prevention, self-rehabilitation, and functional movement so they can take part in their own fitness prescriptions.


Team, Documentation & Operations
 
  • Document all patient encounters in mandated Government systems, following guidance and training provided.
  • Attend staff meetings with the squadron commander as needed to review medical readiness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that enhance the sports medicine program.
  • Keep equipment and facilities organized, clean, inspected, and safe per manufacturer specifications, and report unserviceable equipment to your supervisor.
  • When authorized, travel within CONUS to provide injury prevention and therapeutic support during exercises, TDYs, and mission-related meetings.

Qualifications

Education
  • Graduate of a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
  • Master’s degree in Athletic Training or a health science–related discipline from an accredited institution.

Certifications & Licensure
  • Current Certification in Athletic Training from the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
  • Certification in at least one form of soft tissue mobilization, such as:
    • Active Release Therapy (ART).
    • Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (e.g., Graston, ASTM, SASTM).
    • Dry Needling (e.g., Myopain Seminars, Evidence in Motion, Structure and Function).
  • Full, valid, unrestricted, and current license in a state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • American Red Cross CPR/BLS/AED certification, current and maintained.

Experience
  • At least two (2) years of professional experience working with military personnel or professional, Olympic, or collegiate sports.
  • At least one (1) year of that experience must be full-time within the last two (2) years, evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries in a clinic or training room environment.

Onboarding & Security Requirements
  • Able to complete 93 AGOW and 23 MDG in-processing and DoD provider training, including computer-based and Relias health training.
  • Able to complete and maintain a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation, including fingerprinting and an electronic application (eApp) at least 15 days before the start date.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English; Antiterrorism Level 1 training required within 30 days of base access.
