Location: Ramstein Air Base, Germany – 86th Medical Group
Start Date: 30 September 2025
Schedule: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, between 0600–1900, flexible)



Make a Difference Behind the Mission

French Consulting is seeking an Infection Preventionist to lead the Infection Prevention and Control Program at Ramstein Air Base. In this critical role, you’ll develop, implement, and oversee infection control measures that protect patients, staff, and the entire military community.

Your expertise will guide compliance with CDC, APIC, and Joint Commission standards, while shaping policies that keep healthcare environments safe. This is an opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on military healthcare operations.


What You’ll Do

Program Leadership & Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the annual Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP).
  • Conduct inspections, risk assessments (ICRA), and annual program reviews.
  • Guide accreditation readiness and ensure compliance with CDC, APIC, OSHA, Joint Commission, and DHA/AF standards.
  • Formulate corrective actions and advise leadership on evidence-based prevention strategies.
Surveillance & Data Analysis
  • Collect, analyze, and report infection-related data across the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Monitor healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and multi-drug-resistant organisms (MDROs).
  • Lead outbreak investigations, implement control measures, and collaborate with public health partners.
  • Use statistical tools, reports, and databases to track, trend, and improve infection control outcomes.
Education & Training
  • Develop and deliver infection prevention education for staff, patients, and leadership.
  • Provide orientation training for newcomers and annual refresher courses.
  • Create lesson plans, presentations, and handouts to support learning.
  • Promote awareness of national patient safety goals and proper infection control practices.
Advisory & Collaboration
  • Consult on facility construction, renovations, and contracts with infection prevention implications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, committees, and regional infection prevention peers.
  • Participate in AFMS and DHA working groups, meetings, and professional forums.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for leadership on infection prevention and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, or Microbiology.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ recent infection prevention/control experience (with at least 2 years in the last 4).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
  • Completion of AF/DHA EPIC training within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of CDC, OSHA, APIC, AAMI, and Joint Commission standards.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
