Job Overview
Healthcare Professionals are needed to provide medical services to supplement the medical staff in support of the Military Treatment Facilities and Health Clinics within the U.S. Army Medical Command, Regional Health Command Europe, and other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, including the US Navy and US Air Forces in Europe.
Qualifications
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent with additional training or education; supplemented with one (1) year of related experience in an accredited health care hospital which results in familiarity with and knowledge of hospital or clinic routines and procedures in anesthesia, surgeries or pain management procedures.
- Certification: Obtain a certification in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association and/or the Red Cross approved training program prior to contract start date.
- Experience: Provide documentation and references showing at least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting within the last 3 years.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Prepare examination rooms and procedure rooms before the patient's arrival.
- Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
- Check the patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, and blood pressure.
- Obtain and document the patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form.
- Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance from the RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.
- Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and ensuring adequate supply are always available.
- Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice.
- Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare.
DOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support Status
This position is eligible for support under NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) supplemental agreement articles 72 or 73.
