What You’ll Do
- Room patients, take vital signs, and screen them using standard questionnaires per clinic protocol.
- Prepare the electronic health record and other forms before each visit; have backup paperwork ready in case of an EHR outage.

- Participate in daily team huddles and communicate clearly with providers, patients, families, and other departments.
- Use MHS Genesis, Care Point, and Secure Messaging to enter patient data, support population health metrics, and follow up with patients.
- Schedule appointments, prepare patient correspondence, and handle other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Help orient new staff and keep the clinic environment safe and organized.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols, including universal precautions.
Who You Are
- A Medical Assistant with a steady hand at vitals, screenings, and front-office workflow.
- Comfortable in an electronic health record and quick to pick up new clinic systems.
- A clear communicator who puts patients at ease and works well with providers, nurses, and front-desk staff.
- Motivated by the chance to serve U.S. Navy service members and their families.
What You’ll Need
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (CAAHEP, ABHES, or a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program).
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 3 years.
Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in-person, not web-based).
- Two letters of recommendation (one must be from a physician or supervisor who has personally observed your clinical work).
Other Requirements

- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a base access ID.
